255 xargs状态无退出

我将xargs与webp一起使用来大规模更改MIME类型

find . -name "*.jpg" | xargs -I {} cwebp {} -o {}

xargs经常失败255→If any invocation of the command exits with a status of 255, xargs will stop immediately without reading any further input. An error message is issued on stderr when this happens.

如何继续使用xargs？我知道的唯一方法是列出webp无法处理的所有可能的错误。但是他们是什么？有人预言过吗？
