IPv4 header included checksum but not in IPv6, why?

I have explored more to find why checksum is removed from ipv6 but I couldn't get exact answer, How the mutable fields in IPv6 protected?

TCP和UDP之类的更高层（> = 4）协议仍然具有自己的校验和。如此众多的低层协议（<= 2）已经拥有自己的校验和，以至于在IP（第3层）中拥有另一个校验和被视为不必要的开销。

这是工程决策。
