我正在使用配备4GB DRAM和Intel PCIE SSD的机器。密钥大小为10个字节,值大小为1KB。基准代码在http://www.lmdb.tech/bench/ondisk/中给出,我使用的命令行是" ./ db_bench_mdb --benchmarks = fillrandbatch --threads = 1 --stats_interval = 1024 --num = 10000000 --value_size = 1000 --use_existing_db = 0"。

对于写入的前1GB数据,平均写入速率为140MB / s。然后,前2GB的速率显着下降到40MB / s。在测试结束时,写入10M值,平均速率仅为3MB / s,即时速率 1MB / s 。我知道LMDB并没有针对写入进行优化,但考虑到我有一个非常高端的英特尔SSD,我并不认为它会这么慢。

我还注意到LMDB访问SSD的方式真的很奇怪。在测试开始时,它将SSD写入大约400MB / s,但不执行读取,这是预期的。但随着我们编写越来越多的数据,LMDB开始读取SSD。随着时间的推移,读取吞吐量上升,而写入吞吐量显着下降。在测试结束时,LMDB以大约190MB / s的速度持续读取,同时以大约10-20秒的间隔发出100MB的写入。

1。对于存储在SSD上的数据,LMDB具有如此低的写入吞吐量(测试结束时为1MB / s)是否正常?

2。为什么LMDB在测试结束时读取的数据多于写入数据(每1MB读取大约20MB数据)?

据我了解,尽管我们拥有的数据多于DRAM所能容纳的数据,但B树的分支节点仍然应该在DRAM中。因此,对于每次写入,我们需要从SSD获取的唯一页面是叶节点。当我们编写叶子节点时,我们可能还需要编写它的父节点。因此应该有比写入更多的写入。但事实证明,LMDB的阅读远不止写作。我想这可能是它最终如此缓慢的原因。但我真的不明白为什么。

在@Howard Chu的帮助下,我发现了这个问题。

过多的读取是由OS预读引起的。默认情况下,当我们读取页面时,操作系统会将该页面后面的页面预取到内存中。但是,这在DB中通常是不受欢迎的,因为我们通常是随机读取。因此,我们需要禁用预读以获得随机读取的最佳性能。

对于基准测试,有一个命令行选项--readahead = 0,它又为LMDB设置了MDB_NORDAHEAD选项。

禁用预读后,在测试结束时,即时写入速率从1MB / s增加到8MB / s。并且在iostat中观察到的读/写量几乎相同。
