在双向多对一/一对多关系的情况下，“许多”方应该是拥有方（并且在拥有方指定@JoinColumn），而“一方”方应该mappedBy指向拥有方。在您的情况下，您还需要启用保存操作的级联：

    @OneToMany(cascade = CascadeType.ALL, mappedBy = "receipt")
    private List<Collection> collections; 
    ...

public class Collection implements Serializable { 
    @ManyToOne
