phi = 2 * Pi * U(0,1)
cos(theta) = 2 * U(0,1) - 1
r          = r_min * U(0,1)^(1/3) (r_max - r_min)

sin(theta) = sqrt(1-cos^2(theta))
x = r * sin(theta) * cos(phi)
y = r * sin(theta) * sin(phi)
z = r * cos(theta)
