在其他答案/评论的帮助下，我注意到我没有使用正确版本的XCode。

当我在finder中双击项目文件（UICatalog.xcodeproj）时，它默认打开了旧版本的xcode（版本3.2.6）。要解决这个问题，我右键单击xcodeproj文件，然后“打开”，发现有两个版本的xcode可用。在我选择最新版本的xcode.app（版本4.6.3）后，一切都很好。
