我遇到了类似的问题，具有相同的错误消息，但是我找不到确切的原因，但这是我所做的：

我已经用--stacktrace执行了构建。在这一点上很明显，问题出在androidx依赖项上。

gradlew -q dependencies yourProject:dependencies

只有一个包使用了androidx依赖项。更新了该特定程序包，并进行了更新，不再存在依赖关系-恢复正常。
