重写动态内容的URL

我有一个带有插件的WordPress网站，不允许我更改http://www.example.com/something/的基页网址。我希望http://www.example.com/something/成为主页（http://www.example.com/）而不向用户显示（e.x.从http://www.example.com/重定向到http://www.example.com/events）。任何帮助将不胜感激。服务器是Apache，我确实启用了mod_rewrite。
